Lacey and Larking Frontera Fund
Jim Larking and Michael Lacey, the co-founders of Phoenix net Times, decided to fund groups that fight for migrant rights in Arizona. They two were using their arrest settlement of $3.75 million to fund these organizations.
The reporters were arrested and jailed after doing a story about the Sheriff. Jim and Michael sued the county and won the case.
Jim Larking and Michael Lacey were motivated because they had advocated for the implementation of the first amendment rights.
