April 1st, 2018, State Court of Appeals judge Marco Antonio Marques da Silva, is honored by PUC-São Paulo. Marco began his legal studies at PUC in 1977, and he graduated in 1981. He also endeavored to achieve a specialization, masters, doctorate and teaching degree all at the University of Pontifical Catholic. He then joined the State Judiciary in the year 1983, and served the four counties of Palmeira D’Oeste, Monte Alto, Diadema and São Paulo. In the year 2002, Marco had been promoted to substitute judge and his position changed to the Court of Appeals judge in 2007.
A lawyer and addmistrative professor at PUC, named Ricardo Sayeg, saluted Mr. Antonio on behalf of the county’s Faculty of Law. In the speech Ricardo gave, he spake briefly about Marco Antonio’s career journey. Being born in the city of Itapetininga, Brazil in 1958; and how at the age of 15, he had already knew that he would pursue studies and a career in Law. Marco began his legal schooling at PUC in 1977 and went on to graduate in 1981. He further pursued a specialization degree, then a masters degree, and finally, a doctorates degree in teaching at the University of Pontifical Catholic.
The year 1982, Marco Antonio Marques da Silva was already working as a professor at PUC; In 1983 he joined the State Judiciary and worked in the four counties.
Marco Antonio gave a heartfelt, emotional public speech, thanking the all his family, friends, and supporting gatherers in his appreciation ceremony. He goes on to share: ”I am aware that nothing in life is accomplished alone and therefore I am a man who values family, friends, education, justice and especially God.” Special thanks were given to the Executive Vice President of Bradesco, Laércio Albino Cezar, who was present in representation of the bank, and in representation of the main united sponsor that funded the construction of the new auditoriums. In a warm speech Ricardo Sayeg gave, he said about Marco that, “He fills us with pride and satisfaction, unanimously recognized by his fellow professors and students as one of our esteemed and most prominent teachers, and as a good man, honest, zealous and loyal… Long live! Here at PUC, you are an immortal,”.
